Septic System Inspections

A NAWT-certified evaluation of an existing system — for buyers, sellers, realtors, and lenders.

Utah hasn't adopted a statewide septic inspection standard, so the quality of an inspection depends entirely on the inspector performing it. I inspect to the National Association of Wastewater Technicians (NAWT) standard — a consistent, documented evaluation you can rely on, not just a quick walk-through.

What I provide

  • Tank condition, access, baffle, and lid inspection
  • Sludge and scum layer measurement
  • Distribution system and drainfield evaluation
  • Dye testing where appropriate
  • A clear, documented report for buyers, sellers, realtors, and lenders

When you need it

  • Buying or selling property with an existing septic system
  • A lender or realtor requires an inspection before closing
  • A second opinion on a prior inspection
  • A routine check before a small problem becomes an expensive one

Why the NAWT standard matters here

Because Utah doesn't require inspectors to follow a defined standard, anyone can call themselves a septic inspector. A NAWT-certified inspection follows a consistent national checklist — tank condition, baffles, distribution system, and more — so what you get is a real evaluation, not just an opinion.
