Drinking Water Systems

Keeping a small public water system compliant, documented, and well understood — from source protection to the tap.

Small public water systems have to be modeled, documented, and monitored to state standards. I help system operators and small associations build and maintain compliance — from hydraulic modeling to source protection planning. I don't perform well drilling or well design; for private wells, I offer standalone well depth verification.

Selected work

Prepared a hydraulic model for a rural community water system, and led regulatory compliance work — coliform assessments, tank disinfection, and public-notification support — for a Kane County potable system.

What I provide

  • Hydraulic modeling — storage, distribution, and pressure analysis
  • Drinking Water Source Protection Plans (DWSPP)
  • Small public water system compliance with the Utah Division of Drinking Water
  • Monitoring and sampling plans
  • GIS mapping of water system infrastructure
  • Well depth verification for private wells
  • Capacity and reliability review for new connections or development

When you need it

  • Adding connections or expanding an existing system
  • A small system that needs to meet — or return to — compliance
  • Planning a subdivision or development that needs water system documentation
  • Verifying the depth of an existing private well

Why it matters

Requirements scale quickly once a system crosses into "public water system" territory. I'll tell you which rules apply to your situation and document to them — backed by a Utah Drinking Water D2 credential.
